This is gonna be a super quick one cause we’re heading out to see if we can adopt a third kittie… named Fred. Where do people get these names, anyway?

EDIT: We ended up not getting Fred. But we DID get a new cat to add to our first two. So Molly and Shadow have a new brother that, so far, they are having a REAL hard time getting adjusted to. Say hello to our new furry friend BooBoo (seriously… WHERE do people come up with these names? I hereby redub thee Boo…

So, wife and I are playing Rogues, from 1 on up, she has soloed to 18 currently doing all the Darkshore, Loch Modan and Westfall stuff. Cassie has been having a ball.

As the person who has played WoW all this time, my wife, understandably, turns to me for answers to her questions. But as a newbie Rogue myself, the questions come, and I got nuttin.

For example… “I was using Thrown Weapons, and you had me train Bows and Guns. I’ve been using Bows now and it feels like I have to get closer to hit an enemy than I did with Thrown Weapons. Do Thrown Weapons have a longer range?”

“Uhhh…. I dunno?”

The answer, in fact, after digging, was that for a Rogue, each means of drawing an opponent has the same range. But it’s not as long a range as a Hunters’ Shoot ability. Go figure. Guess that’s why ranged weapons don’t list a range, cause the distance is different for each class that can use them. The range is tied to the class.

EDIT: And thanks to comments from Ontherocks and Doomilias, I now know that Rogues get an ability eventually called Deadly Throw that makes having the Thrown Weapon skill leveled a good thing. Thanks guys! End EDIT.

Anyway, enough BSing, the point is that Daak sent me a couple links to some great Rogue resources on the ‘net, and I am dutifully sharing them with the three of you that might not already know about them :)

First is Roguespot, a pretty kickass website from what I’ve seen. And as they have A View From Behinds‘ blog syndicated, I imagine they are massively famous and everyone already knew about them.

The other site is Shadow Panthers’ page, a whole ton of lists of gear for Rogues for every situation… PVP, twinks at all ranges, etc. I only skimmed the surface, before realizing it’s way too high level for me to worry about :).

See ya tommorow happy stalkers!

Since Rogues were given Deadly Throw, I’d say it’s imperative to make sure you level that weapon skill.

    thanks for the link!

the reason you want to train all ranged weapon skills is that as you level, you will want to equip the ranged weapon that gives you the best stats. i’ve used them all, if nothing more than for more attack power, agility, crit, etc.

once you hit level 64, it becomes useful as a means to keep fleeing humanoids from aggroing other camps (with the 50% movement speed snare).

once you get to 70, you’ll want to get some felsteel whisper knives made up for you.

until then, just use the slot to max your stats and keep some ammo for those pesky pulls.

    der, it = deadly throw
