A friend pointed out that the song I posted features a singer that hasn’t been with the band since the first album, and therefore doesn’t really give you a good idea what they’re like these days. All three of them, Neil, John and Adam, take turns singing various songs, and damn well at that. But I think this song, Tim Malloys - Back Home in Derry, featuring John as singer, shows that they’re not all about da screaming and da yelling, as our friend Ratshag might say.

To return to hard driving Irish music, we have the Tim Malloys, with Black & Tan. The Tim Malloys are a local Minnesota band, and if you’ve ever been in Minnesota, then you know you can forget what you’ve seen on movies like ‘Fargo’ about the ‘you betcha’ Scandinavian stereotyping… we have more Irish bars and bands then you can shake a stick at, Irish pride out the wazoo, and Irish and Scottish Heritage Festivals that’ll make you weep for joy.

Their first album is still available for free download off their website, so if you like this one, then by all means, go on over there, get it, and then go buy their stuff. If you can figure out how online. I buy all their stuff from live shows, so I have no idea if they have stuff online somewheres. Plug plug plug.

I can only pity those of you who will never be in the bar when they blow the doors off live…
