I hope that picture for the DK mount is a placeholder.

Strangely I don't see many Dreadsteeds running around. Although having just got mine on my Gnome I must say they do look rather silly with a gnome on the back and I will probably be going back to Plan B of a Mechanostrider for day-in day-out play (which as an Engineer suits him very well). On the third hand it was a great fun quest chain and I certainly will be showing it off sometimes.

Mages? Sitting cross-legged? Thunder?

HOW ABOUT SOME ICE-SURFING LIKE ICEMAN! If anything, it could simply be a magic carpet, but with a completely white graphic, and icy trail graphics. That alone would be worth a minor glyph slot.

I'd just like to note that your so-called "Skeletal Gryphon" is actually named Nipplegryph. It's a little known fact, so I won't hold it against you.

The story goes that some guildies and I were running up the stairs to Prince when one of us spotted him. I don't remember who did it, it might have been me for all I know, but someone put the circle/nipple/condom marker on him. From then on he became Nipplegryph.

FYI, you get some pretty awkward silences in vent when you shout out "NIPPLEGRYPH" during a kara pug.

To be a bit more on topic, I agree that the other classes need their own mounts. It seems to me to be mostly laziness on Blizz's part that they haven't added mounts for everyone else.

BBB,

Uncanny, my wife and i talked the other night, and the mounts were identical except for the shammy we thought he could be immersed in an air elemental and fly like that. (and allow hunters to mount there flying pets) So the rogue i invisioned similar to x-man nightcrawler (with puffs of smoke) , and shaman a little like storm.

Nice to see in print.

Thanks

From a previous Blog Azeroth shared topic http://www.blogazeroth.com/viewtopic.php?p=5597 a fair number of people agree that class-specific flying mounts would be good. Plus its not like there isn't a whole load of ideas out there (hmm double negatives) and I'm sure Blizzard could come up with some more themselves.

This sort of class-specific favouritism can be seen in other areas too, I'm thinking of Legendary items or the old Epic questlines (eg Hunter bow questline, QuelSera sword, Medivh's staff) where certain classes get the love and the rest can go jump. Whether this is the "progressive" content we keep hearing about is a matter for debate, perhaps they will add legendaries for every other class eventually. Do we need to sit patiently and wait for our class specific flyers too?

I think your argument is at the heart of things, Tesh.

What is 'core'?

I think Blizz defines it as new quests, raids and PvP that bring new gear for players to chase...

I think the core of the game has to start with finished classes first.

Now, if I were all alone by myself, trying to support a game already in existence, like my PBeM, then the majority of my time has to be spent on working on expanding the campaign and making sure there are new worlds for the players to conquer.

But Blizzard is not just 1 guy trying to support the live game. And while I'm certainly not going to make some asinine statement about billions of Euros a months in revenue or something, I will say it seems damned odd that no one is revisiting these features years after the fact.

As Mosshoof pointed out...

We have racial mounts for everyone, and there are a small handful of class mounts, and a small handful of profession mounts. Which means some classes are excluded, and some professions are excluded.

Why not finish the job?

What mounts are there are great fun and loved by the players that have them. Once I got epic flight form, my dragon, aether ray and engineering heliocopter went in the bank. Cassie would never dream of NOT using her pally level 60 mount.

And having to earn them by following a quest chain, no matter how hard, adds spice to having it.

So seriously... besides not wanting to spend the money to hire some guy to sit in a room in a basement coding away, why not?

Is it based on a 'not value added' argument, that we've taken it this way for this long, they won't make any extra money or entice new players in if they add it at this point? I fail to believe that. Blizzard loves this damn game as much as we do. Adding new class mounts would only serve to bring old players bored with their favorite class back into the game.

It's just one of those things I'll never understand.
