I'm with Wulfa, you guys do a great job with the guild and from back here in the cheap seats, we really appreciate it. Like wulfa, the guild is a big part of why I am really enjoying playing and getting to know people. Oh, and I hope that one of the benefits of having a guild of mature people would be that we can work through any issues which arise sensibly.

Mr. BBB,
I have been following your blog for a few months now and normally really enjoy it! You inspired me to roll a Druid and I have to say it might become my new main for the obvious reason that Druids rock! I have noticed recently that your posts have become very serious and you seem to have lost that "fun" factor that the game and writing about the game provide. I'm not trying to berate you or tell you not to write about hunters (I have a hunter and love your hunter articles), but your posts seem to have lost that "flare" they used to have. Maybe you have some stress in your life that us readers don't know about, but you seem to be "over" WoW in a way. Please bring back the fun-loving-bear we all have grown to adore! (I'm not trying to be negative toward you in any way, I love the blog and will continue to read it regardless!)

Wishing you find the fun again....

Ah, people. The best part of MMOs, the worst part of MMOs. It sounds like your guiding philosophy makes sense. There's certainly wisdom in letting personal affronts fizzle into obscurity. As always, the trick is finding where someone crosses the line into guild-wrecking behavior. On the one hand, if they are only bugging you, it might be under control, but on the other hand, not only could it be indicative of a bad attitude that is probably silently affecting other things, but getting the guild leader grumpy can itself affect other people. *shrug*

Oh hey I see my name. I'm famous!

I've expressed this before but I shall say it again: I think you and Cassie are wonderful guild leaders. I have had so much fun in this guild. I love that we're able to schedule raids; I appreciate that I'm able to take "Orclette breaks" when necessary (when on those raids). I think it's awesome that I can call so many in the guild friends.

So thank you for the time, thought, and care that you and Cassie have put into this guild. You have been a big part in making my WoW experience thoroughly enjoyable.

I pretty much agree with you on most points, with the exception of letting something affect the guild more than once. Yes, people do have bad days. That doesn't excuse their behavior, though. The thing with WoW is you actually CHOOSE to communicate ideas to people. It takes time to type out a response or hit the push-to-talk button. This isn't a social setting where you can accidentally blurt out something and everyone hears.

So what you are doing by not addressing a premeditated issue initially is you're conveying that it's ok. So if it's ok and the guild leadership doesn't mind, why not do it again? I'm not saying accidents don't happen. I'm also not saying that if someone slips up, you drag them into Vent and chew them out. All you have to do most of the time is aknowledge that the incident actually occurred and that your response is you're not thrilled.

The simplest example I can think of is that we had a language rule where you weren't supposed to curse in guild chat. If someone slipped up, an officer would whisper "language please" to them. That's it. They knew we saw and that we didn't approve. It wasn't a discussion, nor did I have to spend much of any time on it, but I'd say 99% of the time it never happened again.

I agree with you here, Mr. Bear. It would not be right to kick out somebody if you have a personal quarrel with them. If it just effects you only, it should be fine and you can discuss it later with them ooorrrr just, ya know, don't talk to them. Of course, I say if they are irratating me, plus 2 or 3 others, that is a problem. I will dropkick them in the face if me and the others agree.

I also hate in guilds when you get that one low level going "Can I join your guild?" "Uhhhh...your level...1." "Please?" And out of the kindness of your heart, you invite them. You log out for 5 minutes to check and alt and come back to find that the level one has left the guild. *Blink* That makes me really want to keeeeeeeelllll somebody!
