This will no longer be true post-patch, cause in 3.0.8 the Cobalt Slicers will be getting a major nerf, making the Fang of Truth x2 a better choice. Hands down if you ask me…

weeellll, the way we see it, a hunter shouldn’t be using melee weapons at all…. Bow or rifle is our baby. (remember the mantra – This is my rifle…This is my gun… This one is for killing… this one is for fun. – marching up and down that damned squad bay) Melee weapons add icing on the cake – for example my lvl 70 still duals 2 Ced’s Cravers for more killing power. The only time I use them is when I have to put some stop smack on a bonehead mob to slow him down for a few seconds so I can reach bow range. Never had the gold to add anything else to them (like more agi) All I can say is go fer it Cassie and BBB, them’s nice!!

My hit rating fell below 100 a few days ago so I picked up a couple of fangs since I had the rep, and I’ve been level 80 for about a week.

I have one of them enchanted so far, thanks to one of my guild’s enchanters who donated the mats. I’m still working on the mats for the other one. I’m a bit of a miser in WoW so I’m planning to get most of them from having BoE drops disenchanted, though getting a hold of Dream Shards is tough right now since so many enchanters are still skilling up.

I’m also using the Projectile Activator from normal Halls of Lightning. I don’t like guns within the context of WoW for two reasons.

1. They’re noisy.
2. I’m a troll so I get an extra 1% crit from using a bow.

But this one was too good to pass up.

Once I get my shaman engineer a little higher level I plan to have him make my hunter some ammo. It’ll also be nice to start farming Crystallized elements with the mote extractor.

[i]Well, with the time I’ve spent scouring WoWhead to find something better than a pair of Slicers, I can safely say that I’m taking my pair of +50 AP enchanted Slicers to Naxxramas with me, and will probably be using them until I get something like Black Ice or Betrayer of Humanity.

They really are that good. However, they are not good enough to drop 12 Abyss crystals on. Well unless you are in a guild that is so far advanced into Naxx that you are already sharding a good deal of the drops you get. I will freely admit that my hunter is not the top of my list these days. I am a tank first and hunter second. She will be leveled probably over christmas when I get more of a chance to use her. I am a BS and will make my own slicers to level with. That being said, you will more than likely see cheap greater potency enchants on any of my weapons until I can pick up something epic.

Raiding or not, the content we have to deal with at the moment in both the 10 and 25 man versions of Naxx is not all that difficult for anyone who has spent a week in heroics and geared up a little, or even if they were in BT/Sunwell gear to begin with.

Is Cassie going to dual wield those on her rogue?

For a rogue the cobalt slicer is pretty slow for an off hand, but perfect for main hand. The fang of truth would be much better as an off hand fora rogue than the cobalt slicer. The S2 off hand might be better than the cobalt slicer for a rogue.

Weapon speed is huge for a rogue, but is really secondary for a hunter.

I don’t know whether Cassie has thought about switching to Mutilate daggers, but having made the switch myself with a couple of Saronite Shivs I can heartily recommend it. Since I made the switch I’ve found it a lot easier whilst questing as things mostly die within a stun lock and I’m not having to stop and eat or bandage as much as I did when trying to level as combat swords.

Must write up a blog post about Mutilate levelling and soloing spec…

but neither of them are what I would consider good enough to put the true, “Omigod are you shitting me” single weapon enchant on them for Hunters… the Enchant Weapon – Accuracy.
