Oh, Scrooge MacDuck, how I love thee.

And I already use Gather Mate (and associated database) for the engineering parts, but I do actually like it for my other nodes depending upon what toon I’m on at said time. (Also, they track my Everfrost Crystals (under treasure) in Storm Peaks. Just visit the nodes instead of spending hours upon hours trying to find one crystal to raise my Hodir rep). I never really could get into Gatherer–just seemed too hard to figure out. But maybe I’ll give it another try after this entry.

“I do like farming for Ore and Herbs, though… because I love flying around mindlessly jamming to tunes, swooping in for loot and flying off. I find it relaxing. It’s almost evil, how much I enjoy just flying around swooping down on an Ore node or Herb frond, listening to music, for hours on end.”

What I want to know is: do you make the barnstorming airplane noise as you swoop? Me, I like to get right over it in Epic FF and dive bomb in proclaiming MMMMMMMRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOWWWWWWRRRRRRRRMMMM as I arrive. I do it loud enough to scare my cats out of the room. :)

Seriously though, thanks for this post and the tips. Route is the coolest add on I have seen in a long time and I am looking forward to using it.

What do you mean druid love isn’t required? No one should be allowed to play WoW without at some point experiencing (and loving) the feel of playing what I refer to as my “stinky drood” ^^

Got to say I’m not sure where to take him, I like tanking but don’t feel my gear will ever be good enough to warrent taking him over a warrior or paladin, trying healing atm but getting a decent SP set to start is taking longer than I’d like… probably end up as a Boomkin, I’ve had my share of being feral dps and I admit my damage is always better as a caster than a melee, my rogue is living proof :P

Routes seems interesting…
I’ll almost definatly start using it, as soon as I can find my wireless connection. I’ll probably get someone else to find it for me. It seems very helpful for my main, as he has always had 2 gathering professions.

I very much enjoyed reading your blog. I have an 80 druid and play him feral, balance and resto (when my guildies can convince me it would be worth my while to spend hours staring at the left side of my screen.) I find it sad when gear gets nerfed. I have heard a rumor the Titansteel Guardian is going to get nerfed becuase of its’ spell power. But it has no mana or spirit on it and very little crit so why nerf it? Why can’t we be allowed to chose between a piece of gear with spell power alone or one with less spell power and other stats. My feeling is when they nerf gear they are forcing us to follow very few if only one path to getting gear for end game raiding. I have always felt that there should be three paths, crafted, pve and pvp to get gear and all three should be able to provide gear adeqate for end game raiding. Something shouldn’t get nerfied because its better than something that drops in Naxx. The more varied the experience the better. I personally also believe that all of the best stuff in the game should be crafted. Hey, make it really hard to craft and maybe even make crafted gear highly durable but with declining ability to repair so it only lasts for so long. I love this game though I think Blizzard could put more thought into it and providing an equally rewarding experience for all types of players.
So that being said, I am very frustrated with the unequal abilities of players. Retribution Pally’s? Lock’s? It seems that no matter how well I gear or how often I try different way to play, I find I am frequetly on the losing end. I am accepting that it could be me not reacting well enough but when you hear so many making the same complaints…. I believe the toons should be like NASCAR or Formual One racers, the cars are all very similar in ability but it depends on who’s driving the vehicle for the win. All toons in similar level gear should have 50/50 chance of a pvp win given equally talented players. Doesn’t seem like this should be too hard to do for a company pulling in over 100 million dollars a month at least in revenues.
And hey, I like farming, maybe not as much as you, but it’s nice to step away from other stuff and take a few spins around Sholozar Basin for ore and hopefully not coming across any ret pallys while I’m at it.

The addons are quite nice indeed…

although I gotta say I enjoyed getting to herb nodes in the Basin before those fancy epic flyer people… however the catch was I was 76… so no flight form. I’m an underdog in all of it :)

However tapping mines that someone’s on is just low… same with stealing nodes from people fighting mobs… unless their horde :) (I call it economic warfare). It doesn’t help that a healthy chunk of horde on Hellscream are ashats though.

Is it terrible that I want to take that awesome route and exploit the heck out of it… just on a different server?

…then again, I’d have to actually subscribe to the game and catch up. By the time I did that, we’ll be looking at WoW2 or what have you. *shrug*

BBB, this place is almost like Cheers for me… except I’m the extra guy that nobody knows the name of, and you and Rats are a twisted version of Cliff and Norm. I mean that in the best way possible.
