I first saw this video on WoW Insider, and while I loved the video, I was totally turned off from sharing it because when I watched it, it had Gold Selling ads scrolling across the bottom.

Well, I have actually looked into the situation a bit, talked to a couple of really nice folks at BarelyDigital.com who wasted a few minutes of their lives talking to me, and found out that the gold selling ads came from Google Adsense, not from the video makers themselves, and they had nothing to do with that.

They were pretty upset to learn that when I saw their video, there were gold selling ads overlaid on it.

I mean, can you imagine how I would feel if I wrote a blog post, put it on my blog, and then found out that when you came to read it, you got a gold selling ad thrown into your face? Oh, I’d be pissed!

So, I wanted to share the video here with you, because I think it is totally in keeping with the sense of humor I love… and because let’s face facts.

Sometimes, when you get as wrapped up in this game as much as we gamers do, a WoW Intervention is a great idea.

I absolutely refuse to make any value judgments here.

Oh, what the hell.

RUSTY! NOOOOOOO!!!!

(In my best ghost knight voice from Raiders of the Lost Ark) You have chosen…. poorly.

not to quibble, but isn’t the ghost night who says that in the Last Crusade? I honestly don’t know for sure so correct me if i’m wrong. Loved the video, very funny.

  3. Brierley says:

  4. The Daakster says:

He he, that felt like an intervention all of my own =) Great video, thanks for sharing. Hope you guys are all having a great time. Yours, Rusty errr Daak.

That was great up until the end.

Yeah, I knew it was from Last Crusade… but forgot the crowd I chat with. I should have known I should have been more specific.

Apparently, even when using pop culture quotes.. “Cite your sources!”

  9. Thibbledorf says:

Umm Maybe I’d best quit WoW just in case…..you never know this sorta thing could happen all the time when we are in Naxx.

  13. ruune says:

I was just imagining a Sidhe Devil version of this movie where people intervene into guild members to force them to actually accept some loot.

  14. Derevka says:

nice find… but its not Raiders. Its Last Crusade which has “You have chosen poorly…” Didn’t Pepsi spoof that too back when themovie came out too? Anyoo.. nice find!

I had a student whose parents made him play MORE after they thought he needed more friends… I mean why make your kid go outside and play when they can stare at pixels all day!

apparently some of his online friends got concerened when he didnt show up for a week or two…

  16. Ry says:

    ROFLMAO !

    Sending it to the guildies!

I actually work for a living, waiting for the intervention team to meet me when I walk in the door tonight.

Thanks for the laughs, you made my day!

  17. Lunk says:

@ Derevka: It was Diet Coke. The commercial was included in the boxed VHS set I watched far too many times when I lived in Germany ’88-’90 and didn’t feel like going out into the real world (before I lost myself to the Internet).

  18. rofl! great video. hmm… i think i’m playing too much…

  19. Tikky says:
