Rarely do I watch any trailer for a film anymore, and say to myself, “Damn, I canNOT wait to see THAT!”

Truth to tell… yeah, I can wait.

Guess I’ve reached that age where I DO want to see the movie, but I don’t really care if I see it when all my friends do so we can all chat about it at once.

Okay, I guess I’d have to have friends for that to happen, right? Do friends count if none of them live within 50 miles of your local watercooler for BS sessions?

Anyway, trailer, trailer, lots of summer films coming out…

So why in the hell, when I finally see a trailer for a film I just HAVE to see, and I mean right now…

Well, see for yourself.

Now that you’ve seen that… here’s the bad news.

It’s a fan made trailor. Here’s the link.

Why, oh why can’t I see it for reals?

/cry

…and I had to take the day off when they were giving out talent.

While you can tell that that is a fan made trailer all I can say is AWESOME. Can I watch it tomorrow?

  4. Deklan says:

I can only hope that the movie is half as awesome as this trailer.

  5. Orbitz says:

This is so hilarious. I would see the Green Lantern flick if Nathan Fillion was in it. He’s dreamy…. <3

  6. Rohan says:

The Captain Tightpants reference was pure style.

Husband just finished showing me this, I turn back to my own computer and open BBB…..
We’re right there with ya Bear. That fan needs to be hired to make the movie.

Ahh, you had my hopes up. I started watching the trailer and was thinking, some of these scenes look familiar. The I saw the Star Trek scene that is fresh on my mind because I had scene it Saturday. I scrolled down to only confirm my thoughts. Oh well, I’m sure it will happen one of these days.

Oh yeah. NOW. The Green Lantern and The Flash were my two favorite superhero comics as a kid, and I never, EVER go enough GL. (Really liked Green Arrow too!). And Fillion as the Green Lantern? Too cool for words. Oh yeah, I am ready for this movie. Now we just have to pray it gets done.

Oh…and a pretty damn good trailer, too!

  10. Trijem says:

Those parts from fantastic 4 gave it way.

  11. Sah says:

I can only agree, it’s well done.
But now I’m curious. I constantly got flashbacks to Lord of the Rings during that trailer. Is it just because I don’t know anything about the green lantern except that he’s some kind of super hero, or did anyone else hear it?

  12. Dorgol says:

@Sah: The only LotR reference I saw was the sene @ 0:38 when “Hal” picks up the “ring”.

ANd while I don’t find Green Lantern that interesting, I would probably go see it if they got a good actor (like Nathan Fillion).

Oh, and I’m really surprised people commented on how it was the FF4 scenes, or the Matrix scenes, or the Star Trek scenes that gave it away… for me it was the music. Ripped STRAIGHT from the Star Trek previews – and even then only a veiled rip off of the Batman Begins / The Dark Knight theme.

  13. Dorgol says:

Oh, and when I read the topic I thought this would be a rant about how the trailers for Terminator Salvation were ALL KINDS OF AWESOME, while the film is apparently mediocre.

  14. Fobok says:

Totally agree! I’m a huge Green Lantern fan, and a huge Nathan Fillion fan, so this made me so wish it was real. I hope the real Green Lantern live-action movie ends up being as good, even though I’m sure they won’t make such a casting choice.

what really made this look awesome, imho, are the other green lanterns. they didn’t look stupid cgi the way all cgi stuff looks these days, and they didn’t look like the thing from the FF movies recently. they looked… drawn. animated. AWESOME! alas, i know no studio would ever be so bold as to do something like that.
