The pure amount of changes made me skim big parts and jump class specifics (except druids).

I never really enjoyed doing the same raid in a 25 man version after doing the 10 man version. The question that comes to me now is if the 10 and the 25 man versions will differ in layout and fights, I sure hope they do even if normal and heroic mode will have about the same look. However, I'm afraid we just will see 4 levels of difficulty in basically the same instance.

Considering the cat nerfs, I don't like them but I'm not surprised. I was a lot more surprised when I dual-speced and saw the amount of dps I managed to put out as kitty considering I was new to the feral tree.
Being resto as main spec though there wasn't anything that I can see will affect my playstyle. I think I like the change on innervate though since it will probably make me use it more (up from almost never :) ). However, I think the buff of MP5 might be the last nail for spirit. Just this morning I was thinking "is spirit really worth it now that innervate isn't based on it anymore?" since innervate was more or less the only thing making spirit comperative to MP5 concerning mana regen. The only reason to use spirit if this goes live will, as I see it, be mana regen OOC and the SP from ToL and it will probably not make spirit worh it in a lot of cases.

Some nice changes in the interface there.

Don't get me wrong, I like the changes they're making. I just think some of them are coming way too late.

I'm currently taking an indefinite break from the game, anyway. It was a combination of burnout, and being tired of the way Blizzard handles things. Champions Online is looking pretty neat.

What bugs me is that they're just NOW getting around to the druid forms.

People haven't been asking for new druid forms for years, oh no. I'm pretty sure people have been wanting a new tauren cat form, at least, since pre-BC. There are some famous, high-quality reskins of druid forms that have been out for a couple years at least.

No, they couldn't make better druid forms for druids, who pretty much spend all of their combat time in said forms. They could make a new, higher polygon model of blood elves for Sylvanas and Alexstrasza, though. NPCs that you don't even see that often, especially in combat.

As someone who's played a Ret pally since vanilla (yeah heard the Retlol for over 3 years), the idea of the paladin class being changed over and over again doesn't really bother me. Heck they've changed it's image every expansion so it's not a big deal. The changes to Ret in this patch means I have to slightly change my cooldown/proc priorities and have one less seal to worry about. For Holy though, I haven't tried playing it yet but I can totally understand why someone could be upset. That's quite a few nerfs and like the 4th or 5th time they've nerfed Illumination.

I completely get the annoyance of having your toon's capabilities and even play style continuously altered, especially when one's favorite toon goes from viable, to OP to sub-standard and back again it's maddening. However I also see it from the developer standpoint.

I worked on a mud for about 10 years and the difficulty is that every time you introduce new content it changes the balance in unexpected ways. The new content may have balance issues; it may highlight or exacerbate balance issues that already exist; or it may produce an unforeseen balance issue in combination with something else that already exists. This is even harder when you have such a large number of smart and committed players who will work ceaselessly to find any advantage (weakness or imbalance) you've inadvertently created.

At this point there are really only two choices.
1. leave things unbalanced.
2. try to fix it.

I've tried both options and they both suck in different ways. Blizzard goes for option 2 and so we just have to accept that if there's going to be new content there are going to be ongoing class changes to respond to the new content and to fix things that showed up due to the previously new content.

So at the end of the day I see this as the price we pay for a game that keeps us engaged and interested far beyond what most console or PC games ever could.

Oh, and these shammy changes rock for my enh/resto shammy. :)

I forgot ...

The most important change in 3.2, in my opinion, is the ability to turn off all experience gains (read post 72, http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=17899800652&sid=1&pageNo=4).

I will finally be able to revisit all the Azeroth dungeons and raids with a group or raid composed entirely of level 60 toons. Yes, the game mechanics have changed and we will have access to some items from Burning Crusade at 60, but still, I think it's great!

For most of us "tuning" means making a small change, testing it, making another small change, then testing that. For Blizzard, it's like they have an old analogue radio with the dial, and to try to tune in a radio station that is just coming in, they grab that dial with their fist and spin it as hard as they can. They realize "oh we went too far" and then spin the dial as hard as they can in the other direction. The very concept of moving it only a little and trying to find a balance does not even enter their thought process.

Careful what you ask for. A straight up damage nerf might as well be what most players prefer. At least you don't have to learn how to play your class again because a specific skill is now archaic.

Perspective is a key element.

Does it matter to you, as a guild leader of a casual non-raiding guild, that kitty cats were doing too much damage when compared to other classes? Very unlikely because you bring the indivisuals who signed up (and maybe encourage a few that e a bit scared to participate) into raids regardless of their classes. You bring individuals. Not classes, not players, individuals.. What it says, in my opinion, is who you play the game with matters much more than your own or collective success.

I am not saying here you would not get frustrated if you were to fail over and over again nigh after night, just that "winning" (beating content, being the best DPS, whatever) is not high on your priority list.

Some players are much more focused on "winning" and for those, class balance matters much. If their class is not competitive, they will not be brought into a "winning" raid or PvP team. A good example would be the raid composition in Sunwell before the great nerf. Shaman anyone? Drum rotation? Why is there a paladin outside the instance?

I have no problem with Blizzard making massive changes to balance the classes. Where I take issues is in the introduction of an easier access to gear which will allow you to overpower the content but that is because I put a high value on challenge.
