Heh. I never drank much, but one night someone gave me a concoction of Southern Comfort and Mountain Dew. Couldn’t taste the alcohol. So, a few hours later, I’d finished off a fifth and a 2 liter, respectively… I’m a big boy, but I don’t really drink much… my two memories of the night are yarfing on a bush outside and thinking that it would either die from alcohol poisoning or grow like crazy from all the fertilizer (it did both; someone mowed it the next day, and a week later it was taller than it was at the time), and six people sitting in the dark around a Bacardi bottle, tossing matches into it watching the blue ring of fire go whoooOOOP!

Someone told me later that at one point I stood up from the couch and looked down at myself, and said “My god, I’m tall.”

Last shot of Jack Daniels…30th Birthday…. Spent the next day chumming the waters of Biscayne Bay out behind Viscaya. Haven’t been able to even stand the smell since.

Thanks for the story triple Bravo. I coundn’t keep from grinning.
Brought back a similiar memory for me of a rented hotel room just off base in Georgia, something called “jungle juice” with Everclear and a very young, naive private from California.
Waking up in a bath tub while smelling of all sorts of questionable scents and stains with no memory of the previous nights “adventure” kept me away from alcohol for the next 10+ years.
Should be a part of the scared straight program don’t you think?

Wow. Thanks for sharing this, BBB. I’m the same way as you (I actually just can’t stand the taste of alcohol) and had a very similar experience. Waiting for officer training to start, got dragged away unwillingly from whatever computer game had my attention before WOW to go “out” with some friends. Ended up going to a…club of ill repute…and ended up with 2x6packs of beer, not counting the mixed drinks we’d had with dinner. (Interestingly enough, we ordered one 6 and the club comped us the other because they had to move us.) Not a lot, but considering there was only 3 of us (the rest bailed after dinner)…yeah. I don’t remember much after that (BTW drunk fighting is funny…drunk fighting ON ICE is even funnier), but sadly, it had a much more expensive ending.

You're quite welcome :) And you shouldn't feel bad really, I didn't have a good drinking story to tell until my mid 20's. Not a big drinker myself. For me it was Sir Jose Cuervo... that bastard. .-= Asara´s last blog ..I might be done. =-.

When I was in the Air Force a buddy of mine who had just turned 21 decided to let my underage butt in on the celebratory drinking. If you think Jack is evil, steer clear of Southern Comfort.

Long story short, we both woke up on the ground near the bowling alley on base getting bitten by ants.
