Recruit a Friend is just insane. If you can find a friend who really wants to play a lot with you, and will stay interested for a long while, it's very worth it (and totally cheating, haha). My boyfriend played from the original WoW release up through early Wrath, then ended up losing his account to a hacker, and then just decided he would take a break from it all together. I persuaded him to make a new account, which is now bound to mine. When we're in a party, we of course get the 300% experience. Running a single random instance will basically get us two and a half levels, depending on how long it is. We got a druid/hunter pair from level 1 to 60 in four days (the benefits stop for each character you make when they hit level 60), and then we powered up to 80 on those two in two weeks. After that, we got heirlooms (like we need more experience gain, right?), he rolled a prot tank and I made a resto shaman, and we did the same thing, except that we leveled those two strictly using the LFD system and nothing else. It's a ton of fun, though it's rather like running face first into a brick wall when you hit 60 and suddenly stop getting the massively boosted experience.

I find it rather annoying sometimes when WoW veterans complain about the game being "too easy" and whatnot nowadays. What's wrong with the game being more streamline and fun, especially when you have 80 levels to chew through? If you're just starting, not making progress right away is discouraging. Blizzard made the changes for a reason, because they will keep users, especially new ones, interested/hooked/addicted. Who really wants to spend hours upon hours grinding like you used to have to? If I had started playing back then, that would have turned me off to the game completely. I want to progress, not feel like I'm wasting time in game while I'm wasting time in real life. That's wasting time squared! You'd think veterans would rejoice at not having to spend a week getting from one level to the next. I'm forced to believe it must be the "I had to suffer, and you should too" mentality, which is just silly. Yes, we get it, you had to really work for it. Good for you, I respect you for it. Buts seriously, who doesn't want a more enjoyable leveling experience? Many veterans probably wouldn't roll many alts if it was as hard as it used to be.

Well, my DK's motto is "very few things resist a two-handed axe to the face". Even as my first character on the current server and first 80--aka, no heirlooms--I don't think there was any point at which I wasn't thinking, yes, this is the class I wanted all along. That first solo of Chillmaw (in blues with a few purples) put the feather in the cap.

I've told some stories on another thread around here about the duo-leveling that the hubby and I do (glad you enjoyed the ramble, BBB!), and we're working on another pair now. Bear + ele/resto shammy was pretty silly OP, but to our surprise the current ret pally + disc priest combo is just ridiculous. We've mowed down a dozen and a half orange mobs in under ten seconds. Thank you kind person who trained the second group into the spot we were fighting--our biggest problem is actually collecting enough mobs in one place for the shredder.

We had initially tried ret pally + mage, but the hubby kept screaming, "Where are my healing buttons?!?" so the mage is now banking while the hubby grows a fourth (and final as there are no other options) healer to 80. I'm not sure about the ret pally, however. At least now that we've gotten to 50, I have more than 2 buttons to push. Maybe I'll try some holy--what's that sound? Oh, just the guild having hysterics.

I've a shaman waiting in the wings for Cataclysm, so I'll be doing something a little different while everyone and their mother is a worgen druid. I feel that I'd really enjoy the shaman class, but I just don't like the Dra-how's-that-spelled race's body models. The females wag so very, very much when moving that I can't look at anything else on the screen; rerolled as a male, but now I spend my time worrying that he's just going to capsize. Unfortunately, I don't like dwarfs' looks/animations either. /sigh Having a character I enjoy, or at least don't mind, watching is sadly quite important.

IMO its much more about the player than the class, esp while leveling. People who have a clue can tear through mobs, or tank anything, or heal anything. THe game is pretty forgiving at that point (gogo shadow priest healing in 5 mans)

Most overpowered dps alt? Enhancement shaman, hands down.
Playing a rogue main, almost any class capable of self healing feels much more convenient to begin with, combined with the homogenized damage across all classes this makes leveling to 60 a breeze on any character.
However, once you get your hands on maelstrom weapon, spirit wolves, shamanistic rage and bloodlust/heroism to top it off, shaman become ridiculous.
I have yet to find a quest that my fully heirloom equipped shaman can't solo with ease.

Hi! Fairly new reader (been reading a couple of months now) and first time poster!

I have to admit, reading your previous post about twinking out a baby warrior with heirloom gear inspired me to make an alt of my own! I cleared out all the wintergrasp marks and triumph badges my hunter had laying around and bought the leather chest, dagger (dunno why, but dagger looked the most appealing to me), haste trinket and leather shoulders heirlooms and made myself a little feral druid twink. That was yesterday. The twink is now level 26 and I'm trying to learn this whole bear tanking business and having a blast while I do it! =)

In bear form, I feel like a juggernaut.. until I run into a dps pally who refuses to take off righteous fury. In cat form, I gleefully slice up any and everything I set my beadly little eyes on! Healers have not had much to do when I'm tanking, so they take up dpsing 'til a heal is needed. All in all, it feels great! It's a big change from my being a brand new player at the launch of TBC. I miss some of the wonder I had while leveling my hunter and how dungeon groups were not always crazy AOE fests. I get annoyed at dps on my druid who keep saying "gogogo!" when I'm still learning how to tank! A few people got mad and left the groups, but I've been developing a thicker skin with each instance I run as a tank. ^_^

I hate reading stuff like this because it makes me want to go level a new alt! My main server is full... and they are all 80 which makes it hard to consider deleting them. In fact unless we get additional character slots I'll be forced to either server transfer one of my 80's or not level a worgen at all. Which would be sad :(

For now I'm leveling horde toons when I get really bored but otherwise have been spending a lot of time on my Hunter at 80 just destroying everything.

If I were to delete a toon it would have to be one of the classes i'm kinda meh about like my rogue or warlock... but those classes were also hard for me to stick out and level so deleting them would destroy a lot of work on my part. On the other hand I could delete a class I love to level such as my hunter or priest... but then would also delete a lot of the memories and joys on the original toon.

Server and faction transfer is really looking like the best option... suppose I should start saving the 55$. Course the real trick is finding another server...

Ok I am on my second full server account. No I don't play all of them every day. Two of them on the new server are place name holders for the Goblin AND the Worgen, yeah I swing like that play both sides. I moved a DK with heirlooms in the bag for the Worgen druid and Goblin rouge switched it to alliance so I can do Gnomer. I am set but no expansion, no Worgen to play no rouge to slice and dice with. To fill the time I go back to Slientwalker my hunter on the main server an OMG. This lil girl is taking out 36 ogre mobs at level thirty. I might have been a noob playing through Tauren Mill the first time on my druid but I died a lot there. Silent is taking out reds on a regular basis. I am having so much fun tearing through the levels I am afraid I will have another 80 all too soon and then what. Who is going to get left to molder at the Filthy Animal, flirting with the cute little troll waitress. I have a picture of the Tauren Druid buying the Tauren Shaman a drink and talking over the good old days raiding Naxx when it meant something, damit. Time marches on Someone will have to go we will have to see how the end game is on a hunter but for leveling man I am having fun again.

That’s wasting time squared! You’d think veterans would rejoice at not having to spend a week getting from one level to the next. I’m forced to believe it must be the “I had to suffer, and you should too” mentality, which is just silly. Yes, we get it, you had to really work for it. Good for you, I respect you for it. Buts seriously, who doesn’t want a more enjoyable leveling experience? Many veterans probably wouldn’t roll many alts if it was as hard as it used to be.

I'm down to 3 non-80 alts (not counting the bank alt) and the only one I enjoy playing is my Disc Priest. I love the whole "ounce of prevention = pound of cure" approach to healing. Mighty mighty bubbles of ass-saving goodness! I can't always pull it out of the fire, but I've saved some instances where a wipe seemed inevitable, and it just makes me want to hug my priesty and love her and call her George - even if that's not a good female troll name at all.
