What I realise I need to do is add links on each chapter, so that you can more easily navigate to the next part without having to go back to the table of contents.

It's all a learning experience, right?

Now I'm all curious.... This whole type of story writing is new to me, and when I first explored your blog, there were so many other neat things to read that I never started this story. It looks like an investment of time to get involved. But now I see these tantalizing bearwalls of storyline and I can feel you sucking me in! I have a feeling that on my day off this week, I'll be spending a large chunk of my time catching up.

Next week, you'll see me joining the masses in clamoring for the next installment! :)

oh gosh....this is gonna be a toughy to pick what to ask. Like you said, much of those various topics have rolled through my mind while reading that bit. I think i'm gonna have to go back through and re-read all my chapters now. That was a VERY good piece of writing. I'll admit that as the Loremaster was speaking of his own failings in starting whatever it is he started, I was feeling tingles.

What I didn't realise is, now that I wrote this section, and yes I know there are typos and mispellings, I think I did damn well for writing straight through for five hours and being barely able to see when I called it at 1:45 Am....

But now that this part is done, I keep going over in my head... what questions would *I* ask, in the time remaining... and then how would I answer them?

So I'm starting to build a mental list of the questions I would ask, based on what I know that I've written about or hinted on. And of course, what would be appropriate to ask considering the way Terin has acted and thought in the past.

Also, I had a long conversation with james recently, and we went over some of the things that are driving forces in Terin's life, things I touched on for the first time in this story, primarily what it is he is searching for in his studies now. The one thing he's been searching for the most, is some indication of the history of the Orcs, because prior to humans fleeing Felwaithe during the diaspora, there is no record that there WAS such a thing as Orcs. But there were records of humans meeting with and trading with a race that called themselves Dwarves, a very secretive race the lived high up in most inaccessible reaches of the mountains, a people that did not travel, but who did trade their famously skilled metal and stone work in exchange for exotic woods and fine comestibles of all kinds.

What humans now live are those descended from the ones that fled Felwaithe and took shelter across the northern straight, risking the judgment of the Elves and possible doom over the certain death that followed from behind. There is no record of what, if anything, happened to the dwarves, just as there are no surviving records of what happened during the war of Felwaithe itself, because records are written by the survivors, and of those that stood behind and fought, there were no survivors. Death stalked the land, and nobody that stood against it lived. Ever.

Ever since the death of his father and his family, the one burning question Terin has had, has been; frome whence came the Orcs? Had they been in the mountains all along, hidden in small camps and clans, never venturing forth until all competition had been slaughtered by the others? Had they come t the land, and the mountains, from some other world? The very oldest records Terin had found had suggested that at other times in Felwaithes' past, there had been visors from other lands beyond the great western ocean, and even from other worlds.

He doesn't know, and not knowing where the Orcs came from, or what the secret of their history is has been driving him mad.

So, does he ask about that, which would be a completely personal, and in his own eyes selfish question, or does he focus on questions pertinent to this incredibly important task taht has been set directly in front of him? Does he ask questions regarding the visions of redwulf, or of the possible threats, or for suggestions on how to end the threat? Or many, many more things?

Does he ask for specifics, or does he try and get some macro-level understanding of some of the key factors that control the way things work in the world?

It's a lot of fun, and I think I've balanced the triple crits pretty well against feeling pressure to not screw up the chance the player is given. :) Consequences suck, when you'll never know what you might have gotten of you did something different.
