I your little raid guide/experience it better than TankSpot. I find their narration dry and boring. There’s no life in it. So by the time I am halfway through the video I am half asleep. The reason is probably that the “Oh shit… OH SHIT!!!” factor is missing from the TankSpot videos. No fun. And they never tell us what they did wrong. I earnestly believe that you learn much better from mistakes, your own and other people’s, much better than by following instructions.
I haven’t played WoW for months. You lovely post ha got me itching for it… :)

There’s a fun little trick you can pull off as a hunter on that fight. When fire dude targets you with the laser beam of doom, feign death. He stands there all proud of himself for scaring you to death and decides to not roast your corpse, and shuts down the beam. Then you POP up and go neener, neener, neener

Galaxy Poop! Love the buff :) Great story, good to hear your alt raids can carry a total cata raid noob. – my guild can’t – our alt group still only occasionally one shots Magmaw… usually its a couple of wipes as people remember how to raid on their alts… Healers =/= tanks, yo!

Nice description! Glad you had fun. We started out 2 tanking Omnotron (with numerous wipes and a bit of frustration), but now my Bear solo tanks them. It’s a bit easier, lay down some aoe threat on next active, tab target to the next. Everyone should be off the old target so the old target sticks like glue. Line up the golems in the poison cloud for extra damage (but don’t go out of your way for it). Skull bash on Archanotron can interupt every other shot.

Actually, I think this post is great proof that there are very few mechanics in WoW that should truly be new and confusing to players, seeing how you could guess the correct way to react to a lot of things without having heard about them before. Kill adds, move out of the stuff everyone else moves out of, stand in the stuff everyone else stands in, if you glow in a scary fashion run away!

Another post that makes me remember the huge amounts of fun available in game – and yet again it’s the people you’re playing with that make so much of a difference!

By the way, if you think serpent sting is bad on Omnotron, try bringing a feral druid and not having rip and rake on a boss but still actually doing some damge when it gets close to switching targets. That gets tricky!
