I am beginning to think my entire blog/theme has been what has had me in tears, having nothing to do with game mechanics.

Of course, my druid is a max level scribe, so I’m pretty stoked.

The game as it is now is NOT the game I started and fell in love with. I’ve sometimes had a hard time adjusting to changes, especially the hunter chAnges when they moved from mana to energy. I actually couldn’t adapt to the hunter change; I had to create a new hunter from scratch and LEVEL with the changes to learn to adapt, and in the end I love hunters now more than I ever did, but that is what it took to do it.

I tend not to blame the game for how I feel, because the worst times I’ve had in game were not related to game mechanics or changes, but instead were from personal relationships and guild issues. The impact of having damn good friends you look forward to playing with, or people that you dread seeing when you log into the game, to me is far more powerful than tweaks to gameplay.

The tweaks and changes DO make a difference, but they have never had me or Cassie in tears.

I feel more and more I am becoming part of a group of old grumpy WoW veterans. I don’t like being in this group, for nobody caters to us any more, WoW and games in general became more mass popular, and in a hunt for more money developers and publishers have forgotten whose money built this industry.

I am sorry for this angsty reply, BBB’s posts about old times always make me disgruntled and nostalgic at the same time.

No, it’s long gone, and the best I was able to do was get a Hatebringer http://www.wowhead.com/item=24461#comments so I would at least be able to pretend I was carrying Doomulus for Stormwind Pride Day.

My account was hacked a long, long time ago, back in the early days of WoW.

Back then, Blizzard had an entirely different method of dealing with hacked accounts.

First, they denied accounts ever got hacked. Second, they deleted any forum posts in the customer service forums asking for help with recovering deleted characters or equipment related to hacked accounts. Third, they required a phone call to a live agent to try and resolve it. Fourth, they investigated over weeks. And fifth, IF they did restore a deleted character, they did NOT give you any of your original equipment back.

Oh no. My account was hacked while I was still on it, while in vent with other players, and I was a max level enchanter at the time.

The person hearthed to IF, stood next to the mailbox disenchanting all of my shit, and mailed off all the shards. The people I was in vent with were still partied with my character, followed and took screenshots and swore at the person the entire time. I was actively on the phone trying to get Blizz to intervene while the person d/e’ed all my shit.

They never did answer.

I finally got my account back by changing my password and relogging in, but by then all my stuff was gone.

Blizzards action was to send me level 54 greens to replace my gear, and to include a letter telling me that in a FEW MONTHS Burning Crusade would be out, and I’d get far more powerful gear from beginning quests then.

Yes. SEVERAL MONTHS. All my gear gone.

Including my Doomulus Prime. Disenchanted by a hacker, and never restored because back then if you got hacked, well it was probably your fault, you were asking for it.

Not that I’m bitter oh who the fuck am I kidding I’m STILL pissed at how little Blizzard gave a shit about customer service the first couple years before BC.
