Guild

Sidhe Devils is a World of Warcraft Alliance guild located on the Kael’thas US server.

We encourage like-minded players to join our community.  If you are interested, please read the complete charter posted below.  After that, if you still would like to join us, please post in our application folder at the forums on our guild portal page.

Sidhe Devils Guild Charter

Our goal is to provide a solid, family-friendly social guild for all players. We ARE NOT a raiding guild and do not plan to ever see serious end-game, 25-man content beyond Tier 4. We are a guild of mature (emotionally, if not also age-wise) players who are interested in questing, socializing, running instances or heroics regularly, PVPing, or just hanging out and having fun together while understanding that RL takes precedence over the game. If players are interested, we anticipate doing Karazhan runs to have fun playing as a team of 10 and to help players interested in gearing up beyond what is possible at the pre-Kara level.

World of Warcraft is a game. By definition, a game should be fun. There may be events in-game that require a well-organized group of 10 players and we encourage players to participate in events at all levels of content, but attendance to any event is never mandatory. However, if you sign up or announce in advance that you will attend an event, and afterwards discover you are unable to attend, you will need to let someone in the guild, preferably an officer, know ahead of time, so we can arrange to fill that role.

We are a social guild. Members of Sidhe Devils are encouraged at all times to bring suggestions to the guild leadership on how to improve the guild in any way possible.
The Guild Rules

Whether it be in guild chat or voice chat, all members are expected to keep the following in mind;

Behavior and Attitude:

All members are assumed to be emotionally mature adults.

As a reminder, you are expected to treat others with courtesy and respect, no matter what the rank, level, prior experience, age, sex, talent build, time in guild, education or demonstrated ability as a gamer the person may demonstrate.

Condescending or disrespectful remarks, insults and harassment between people, for any reason, are never acceptable.

If you are not a close, personal friend of a member that you are thinking of joking with, never assume that joking around with or insulting other members, especially ones that you do not have a long history of chatting with, will be taken as a joke. Tone of voice does not translate well into typed chat.  Normal joking is one thing, but jokes on the edge of taste may not be appreciated the way you expected.

The final decider of whether behavior is offensive is the person the behavior is directed towards.

Drama is not acceptable. If a member has any personal issues with other players, including disputes with another member, another player in the game, or any loot disputes, the member should immediately contact an Officer or the Guild Leader and inform them of the issue.

Basic Code of Conduct:

Remember we are a guild of emotionally mature adults.  All of the following are basic rules of conduct that we know you follow, but would like to spell them out as a gentle reminder of things that can cause drama and hurt the community feeling that we want our guild to have.

Please do not repeatedly spam public or private channels. This includes guild channels. If you post a request for a group, and no one responded to your first message, wait a reasonable amount of time until new members have signed in.

When talking in guild chat, avoid the topics of religion, politics, sexual orientation, race and gender relations, and other social issues over which people tend to have strongly held viewpoints. If such a topic does begin and begins to get out of hand or tempers flare, expect an Officer to whisper all participants to request the conversation be dropped or moved to a private chat channel. Please do not take personal offense at being whispered to drop one of these topics in general chat, as it is being done for the good of the community.

If you are going to be gone for an extended period of time, please speak with an Officer and/or make a post in guild forums. Because we are a social guild, there is no requirement to be online at any particular time as we know RL comes first.  However, because relationships develop over time, we will likely become concerned if a player suddenly disappears for a long period of time without warning.  So it would help the group to know that you are ok and just dealing with RL.

Sharing accounts with your friends and family will never result in removal from the guild, but it will prevent you from holding Officer rank that has unlimited access to the Guild Bank.

All actions taken by your character are considered taken by you, regardless of who is actually playing your character. Occasionally, you might like to have a roommate, spouse, parent, or child log into your account to play or chat. Provided that it is approved ahead of time with specific arrangements having been made with guild leadership, and provisions have been made to disable Officer-level permissions on your characters temporarily, then it is perfectly acceptable. However, the person playing needs to announce in guild chat that they are not the normal player so there is no confusion, and all actions taken by that character are the responsibility of the owner of the account.

We are only making this rule so that the community feels a little safer in regards to any donations that they make to the guild bank.  All materials in the guild bank are considered available to any player, at or above Bear rank, to help them level reputation, professions or gear.  This is just to make sure that the materials you’ve worked so hard for aren’t lost for no reason.

Bannable offenses:

If a player is suspected to have stolen loot, what is meant by the term ‘ninjaing loot’, or of intentionally causing guild drama, than an immediate Officer meeting will be held. If the player is found to have been responsible for the stolen loot or behavior, then that player will be removed from the guild.

Structure, Ranks and Leadership

The membership structure of Sidhe Devils is designed to best serve the guild for clarity of leadership/organization and player support.

Cub - Recently invited members of the guild. Players of this rank are expected to show that they want to be a part of the guild, and should be friendly to others in the Guild. You do not have to do favors for other members, you do not have to run instances or participate in activities that you are not interested in. However, the more active you are in chatting with others, offering to group with others, or participating in activities, the better the rest of the guild will get to know you, and the more welcome you will feel.

Players at this rank should expect to remain at this rank for at least one week, until they have become known well enough to be considered a stable member of the community. Sometimes during this period a player may decide we are not right for them, or we may decide they are not right for our community.  No offense is meant either way, and there will be no hard feelings if someone decides our guild is not right for them. This is a community, and not everyone will be a good fit. They can still be good players, good people, and good friends to the guild.  The probationary period will end at the decision of the Guild Leaders and Officers.  If there are any raids that occur while you are a Cub, any loot that drops will be distributed to Bears first, unless all Bears agree it should go to you.

Bear - Full member of the guild. Players of this rank are considered full, active members of the guild and have all the rights granted by that membership including participation in any event, equal loot rights with everyone else in any raids that occur, and the ability to request items from the guild bank. The friends and family of Bears will be fast tracked for membership.

Big Bear - Official leadership role of the guild. Members of this rank or higher are expected to participate in discussions in the Officer Chat channel as well as on any Guild forums and be available to guild members to help resolve any disputes when called upon. They are also asked to assist other guild members with their specific class, including advice on gear and talents when requested.

Members of this rank have full access to the Guild Bank and are responsible for the management and distribution of items.  Item requests are sent to Big Bears, who then discuss the request fairly and quickly with any other Big Bears online. The Big Bears decide together if the request is valid, and in the occasion where more than one person requests an item, the Big Bears handle the roll between those members. They have the ability to invite and remove members and make promotions to Bear status.

Big Bear Butt/Mrs Big Bear- Co-leaders of Sidhe Devils with all powers and responsibilities available. They have the ultimate responsibility of deciding if a player must be removed from the guild, as well overall management of the guild.

Raiding

We hope to offer occasional raiding events, including Karazhan (and possibly ZA or Gruuls some day down the road) to members who wish to participate. At no time, however, will any member of the guild be forced or coerced into attending a raid event.

If a member signs up for an event, however, he or she is expected to attend, or at least to notify a Big Bear in advance if they will suddenly be unable to attend.

Because of the level of organization needed to be successful on these events, members attending raid events must meet and follow the requirements and rules listed below.

Requirements

* You need to know how to behave in a group, at least try to know how to play your class (or be willing to learn or accept suggestions) and be able to follow instructions given by the Raid Leader.
* It is suggested when we are raiding that participants install and run the following addons: BigWigs or Deadly Boss Mods, and Omen.
* All raiding players must log into Ventrilo and use it during the raid event, if only just to listen. Microphones are not required.
* It is suggested that all raiding characters have and are able to use Heavy Netherweave Bandages (usage requires First Aid 325, crafting requires First Aid 360). The reason is that in a raid sometimes the main tank needs all heals and other players will be responsible for bandaging and surviving without assistance from the healers.
* All raiding characters with abilities that require Reagents should have them before the event begins.
* All raiding characters should make sure their gear is at 100% Durability before the event begins.
* All raiding characters are expected to know what Consumables they will require, and to bring and use them for all boss encounters in raids.

Attendance

Invites for the event will begin 30 minutes before the event is scheduled to begin.

Players in the raid group are expected to be at the assigned location of the event 15 minutes before the event is scheduled to begin, unless you have checked with the Raid Leader in advance and confirmed a summons will be performed for you.

Execution

The Raid Leader of the event is the person in charge of the event. The Raid Leader is encouraged to listen to suggestion from members of the event and, if he or she is unsure of a particular situation, should ask for advice.

The Raid Leader determines

* which player will be the Main Tank for the event. It is the Raid Leader’s discretion to allow players of the appropriate class to work this out amongst themselves.
* which player may “pull” for each encounter during the event.
* which characters are to receive Soulstones and at which times.
* priority for Divine Intervention casting.
* which characters are to receive Combat Rezzes and at which times.

Loot Distribution in Non-Raid Situations

For non-raids among guild members, common 5 person Instance rules apply.  These include:

* Immediately passing all Blue, Epic (whether BoP or BoE) and BoP items that drop.
* After all Blue, Epic (whether BoP or BoE) and BoP items are passed, the group will decide who needs the item as an upgrade. If more than one person really needs the item, the winner will be decided using a random roll.
* If no one needs the item as an upgrade, the group may decide to have them shared by an enchanter if present and the group will roll for shards at the end of the run. If no enchanter is presenter, the group will roll for the item to vendor later.
* Green BoE items are always set as ‘greed’ by the entire group.

More on BoE items. If you state that you request an Epic BoE for an upgrade, we will ask you to please equip it immediately on the character it is going to be used on unless it is too high level to be immediately equipped. That way everyone in the guild can see that you won’t turn around and sell it on an alt or bank it, and there is absolutely no opportunity for drama.

Loot Distribution in Raid Situations

No member of the raid should loot a Boss until all characters are alive and in range to receive their portion of the gold.

The Raid Leader should link all items in Raid Chat prior to distribution and will open the discussion by asking which individuals are interested in the specific item.

Any non-quest Bind-On-Equip loot item will be rolled for by all members of the raid. For those items usable by a specific class, such as Tomes for upgraded spells.  If no one on the raid can use them, they will be rolled for, but are highly encouraged to be donated to the Guild Bank for use by other members.

Any Bind-On-Pickup item that is passed on by the members of the raid will be disenchanted. The resulting dust, essence, shard or crystal will either be rolled for by all members of the raid and distributed or held to be placed in the Guild bank depending on prior agreed upon decision by the raid party.

Raid Behavior:

Damage Meters

We understand that players are often concerned with the amount of damage they are doing, especially when they have recently upgraded gear or armor.  However, damage meters can also be used in negative, competing ways that cause drama that, as a social guild, we do not want to have members involved in.

Therefore, damage meters may be posted in raid chat IF AND ONLY IF the Raid Leader permits it and the group has discussed it prior to it being posted.  Otherwise, players may whisper the RL or an officer on the run to ask how they are personally doing.
