Team Greymane design complete!

So the last Team Greymane pics were so you could see what Tesh had given me as an example of where he was headed after only one day.

No, those were not what was going up for shirts. Not because I wasn’t happy with the design, I was and still am delighted. No, I didn’t put it up because Tesh told me he was using that as a springboard to go a few steps further. He had more ideas. More direction. More polish.

He also has another project based on vector graphics he’s itching to create, and he showed me some concept art that inspired him for the über project. Just, wow. He said it might be done by Christmas, but, you know… he’s a family man. Kids, Christmas… I’m thinking, as ambitious it is, it may just get pushed a wee bit back. 🙂

But that is a project to drool over for another time.

For now, here unveiled is the true, finished and wonderful Team Greymane design by the inimitable Tish Tosh Tesh, which will grace t-shirts in the BBB Cafepress store by the end of today.

Tesh has also graciously created a 1080p desktop wallpaper version that you can reach by following this link.

I’ve asked Tesh before if he’d think about creating his own Cafepress store so these wonderful creations of his can benefit him, as they should. I have an ulterior motive, of course. I figure, once he had a store, he’d want to do more of his beautiful artwork to populate it. Yeah, I’m sneaky. Hopefully someday. 🙂

In the meantime, as always, any money gained from sales in the BBB Cafepress store will grow until I can use it to get some Cafepress merchandise… to give away on the blog through some silly reader contest.

Look at it this way; the more stuffs people buy, the more stuffs I can eventually give away through the blog.

Oh, and let’s not forget that if you want to see another fine example of an original Tesh shirt design, the Raid From The Heart Cafepress store is still open, and is still configured so that all sales after the Cafepress’ cut go directly to the American Heart Association. I’m not going to close down that design until next year’s event, so you’ve certainly got plenty of time if you’d like to get one of those shirts.

For those of you that have already purchased a Raid From The Heart shirt, and there were many of you, thank you!

    • Never dumb, just… premature! And very observant, actually, to recognise it before you saw the comments that mention it, Well done!

  1. Kudos to Tesh for the design. As I didn’t watch Twilight, I had to look up the “Team Jacob” logos/merchandise/what-not, and I think it’s not only an excellent parody, but the design is so good that I *might* get that T-shirt just for it’s own awesomeness!

    Now, where’s my chapeau claque?

  2. The final product is full of win! I just wish that there was some way to have the symbol on the Gilneas flag (the one that looks like the quake III symbol)centered on the neckline on the back of the shirt or something maybe in red. . .

    • It is possible to add a second design on the back, but it’s very expensive, and so I rarely do that because i don’t want to be the idiot with $40 shirts that are for fun.

Now, using the actual WoW artwork in one of my shirts isn’t something that I ever intend to do. There are lots of things that I’ve thought of that would be awesome, but I’m never going to knowingly violate someone’s copyrighted or trademarked material, EXCEPT for the sake of satire or parody. Using a font style similar to what Twilight uses on their movie posters to do a Team Greymane design in imitation of Team Jacob is for the purposes of parody, but I think using Blizzard’s Gilneas flag design on a shirt would be theft. I’m sure that one of the official WoW licensed merchandise providers will have shirts and hats with that design soon, though.

I’m not a lawyer, so I have no idea how tangled up all of that could be in a court. All I can do is my best to not take someone’s artwork for my own projects.

  3. My only complaint is that the g in both Greymane and Gilneas isn’t capitalized. I think it’d look better that way and my inner editor would shut up when I looked at it. Then it would find something else to edit like quest text.

  4. This is epic! I only wish Cafepress sold shirts bigger than 3x, being six foot eight and not slightly built it takes a big shirt to cover this tank.

    • I tried to include every single shirt option they had, in case some fit folks better than others. I wanted every potential option included.

But I certainly know what you mean, wearing size xxxl does make you look closely at a shirt before you buy it.
