Some Things Defy Description

This ain’t one of those things.

I’ve mentioned briefly that my son loves his Worgen Warlock, Wooffie.

Perhaps I should say that he loves the appearance and the idea of Wooffie. Wooffie looks amazing. Big old evil Worgen Warlock.

I’ve been playing Wooffie a lot, lately.

What can I tell you? I loved my Warlock so much that once I’d taken her as far as I could possibly go, I wanted more Warlock goodness. So, I stole his and leveled and now I’m gearing.

The big shock to me is how much difference Haste makes to fun. Nothing says fun quite like massive loads of haste in your Incinerate casts. Flipping from my Warlock to my sons and back again in combat drives me to consider throwing all weighting models out the window in favor of stacking haste. Screw DPS results, I want to click buttons faster.

But I digress.

If someone ever writes the story of my life and where it went so laughably wrong, they should call it “But I Digress”.

Who am I kidding. It would be called Bearwall. And now that I consider it, that shall be the name of my next fantasy novel. Make it so.

So, Wooffie, Worgen and Warlocks.

He has two transmogs he loves, the Voidheart and the Corrupter Tier set from SSC. They mostly come out of SSC. Mostly.

I like that red set too, which is why I sport it exclusively on my own Warlock. But Wooffie has taken it a step beyond, and then some.

As I’ve been gearing, the Cub logs in to check it out, test things and see how he plays. One of his favorite things is to mount up and see what the red Fire and Brimstone effect does to various mounts.

The other thing he does is test what the items he’s getting look like un-transmogged.

Imagine my surprise when I log in and see that he has removed the transmog on a couple of pieces of new gear, leaving an appearance that blew me away.

My friends, I present to you the new Playable Race for World of Warcraft, the Sha-touched.

He removed the transmog from the Tier 14 Sha-Skin Regalia normal helm and LFR gloves, and left all the rest of his set alone. With the beastly Worgen stance, he looks like some Sha-touched creature dressed like a Warlock, as if some spell into the nether went horribly wrong.

God, I love this look. I don’t even know if swapping for the normal gloves or the LFR helm would improve it, somehow the reddish helm with the blue gloves just work, even though they’re from different difficulty sets.

I don’t know if you’ve seen this helm, but it has living effects, the jaws open and close, breath comes out, twitches. It’s just like having a different head on your body.

This is the kind of thing that makes me finally look at transmog as something other than a way to have your character wear a full set as Blizzard intended.

I have to ask, what kinds of mixed sets do you have that you love? Is there a special blend of mountain-grown Warlock stuffs that you just adore? Is there something that works better for your race than anything else?

Oh, and by the way… here are a few pics of his favorite Fire and Brimstone mounts.

First, the Heart of the Aspects.

And then, because Alex wanted to make sure you knew that if you were riding the Heart of the Aspects underwater it turned into a sea serpent;

Then the Sandstone Drake… or, as Alex put it, the Bloodstone Drake;

And finally…. the one Alex was most adamant I take a screenshot of. The Abyssal Seahorse. Blood in the Water? Yikes!

Introducing… Imperial Worgen!

While leveling my new Worgen’s Mining and Blacksmithing the rest of the way to 450 each (which, at level 70, isn’t bad in my opinion, thank you to farming mats with nothing to do with them except bank it while bored before Cata) I discovered something else in my bank that made me laugh.

Once upon a time, I worked my poor Orc half to death earning and learning and making the entire set of Imperial Plate Armor.

It was just something I wanted to do.

I lamented at the time that I really wished the Orc version came in Orgrimmar Red.

Well, my Worgen was already wearing the Stormwind Tabard, I think it looks very pretty, and I just had to see what she looked like dressed to kill. Oh, who am I kidding, I just think Worgen look awesome.

I think this is my new ‘Worgen about town’ attire. It’s what all the sophisticated worgen will be wearing this season, don’tcha know.

And now mounted!

Team Greymane design complete!

So the last Team Greymane pics were so you could see what Tesh had given me as an example of where he was headed after only one day.

No, those were not what was going up for shirts. Not because I wasn’t happy with the design, I was and still am delighted. No, I didn’t put it up because Tesh told me he was using that as a springboard to go a few steps further. He had more ideas. More direction. More polish.

He also has another project based on vector graphics he’s itching to create, and he showed me some concept art that inspired him for the über project. Just, wow. He said it might be done by Christmas, but, you know… he’s a family man. Kids, Christmas… I’m thinking, as ambitious it is, it may just get pushed a wee bit back. 🙂

But that is a project to drool over for another time.

For now, here unveiled is the true, finished and wonderful Team Greymane design by the inimitable Tish Tosh Tesh, which will grace t-shirts in the BBB Cafepress store by the end of today.

Tesh has also graciously created a 1080p desktop wallpaper version that you can reach by following this link.

I’ve asked Tesh before if he’d think about creating his own Cafepress store so these wonderful creations of his can benefit him, as they should. I have an ulterior motive, of course. I figure, once he had a store, he’d want to do more of his beautiful artwork to populate it. Yeah, I’m sneaky. Hopefully someday. 🙂

In the meantime, as always, any money gained from sales in the BBB Cafepress store will grow until I can use it to get some Cafepress merchandise… to give away on the blog through some silly reader contest.

Look at it this way; the more stuffs people buy, the more stuffs I can eventually give away through the blog.

Oh, and let’s not forget that if you want to see another fine example of an original Tesh shirt design, the Raid From The Heart Cafepress store is still open, and is still configured so that all sales after the Cafepress’ cut go directly to the American Heart Association. I’m not going to close down that design until next year’s event, so you’ve certainly got plenty of time if you’d like to get one of those shirts.

For those of you that have already purchased a Raid From The Heart shirt, and there were many of you, thank you!

The Unveiling of the Awesome!

Tesh took the idea of a Team Greymane design and ran with it, as only he can.

Now, if it was me, I’d be showing you some half-assed thing that was in the early stages of being designed.

Tesh, on the other hand, came up with…

… well, I’ll just have to show you.

Check this out.

I honestly think that he captured the very essence of what it means to be a Worgen.

What do you think?

*Edited – replaced original picture with one provided with more detailed Moon in background.

I am a sick, twisted puppy

I’m playing my female Worgen Priest. The starting zone, without Heirlooms and as a caster, require, get this – skill. I actually died once getting swarmed early on, because I wasn’t checking my six and somebody else drug a ton of mobs to me before inconveniently dying.

Anyway, not the point.

Female Worgen are very cool… but once you go furry, I think they give you hideous ideas.

It suddenly occured to me, what with the whole werewolf thing, and the storyline and where I was…

And what with that handsome Prince Greymane so overjoyed to see me…

I’d love to see some new shirts in my store.

A nice werewolf claw graphic with a portrait or some kind of tribute to Prince Greymane, with the words “Team Greymane” scrolled across it, like all those Twilight “Team Jacob” shirts you used to see so many of.

No, I make no apologies… I’m simply a sick puppy. And now, off to Gilneas again!
